Image Of The Month - November 2014
Cape Ann is a rocky spur of land - a part of Massachusetts that juts out into the Atlantic Ocean. It is home to some iconic New England locations like Gloucester, the fishing port made famous worldwide by the novel and the movie "The Perfect Storm". Full of old settlements and fishing communities, Cape Ann has a wonderful, nostalgic atmosphere and romance to it that makes it a wonderful place for photography.
I captured this view of Rockport Harbor at the end of a beautiful, crisp Fall afternoon. Although it was still an hour or two before sunset, the sky was already reddening a little, creating this beautiful contrast between it and the deep blue of its reflection in the darker water.
